Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture now regulated in Ontario!

Great News!!! As of April 1st, Acupuncture and TCM has become regulated in Ontario.  We are the second province in Canada  (BC being the first) to regulate.  In an effort to make these services safer, Ontario is now making sure that ONLY regulated and qualified practitioners deliver these services.  Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture practitioners need to be registered with  the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.  The college will oversee and regulate the profession to ensure patients receive safe, high quality health care services.

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) is established under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Act, 2006. It works in consultation with the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care to ensure the public has access to safe, competent and ethical services from qualified traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) professionals.
